I have found fuel deliver IS a common problem but its not from fuel pump failure its from plugged filters. I have actually found the Walbro & Bosch pumps to be extremely reliable. Being aviation and following the redundancy theme I committed to dual fuel pumps BUT also wanted duel filters. So I set up my system with dual final 10 micron filters. If I switch pumps I automatically use the second filter as well.

The fuel pumps are Walbro 155L / Hour and have built in check valves. They only draw about 5.5 amps at 43 psi on the Apex. The pump and filter diameters are within a few millimeters of each other so the Walbro mounting brackets work well and are only $5 / set. They allow you to move around and bolt to odd air frame triangulation. The "Y" blocks I could only find on Ebay and are -8AN but my inlet & outlets are -6AN. All part numbers are listed. Unfortunately the assembly does weigh almost 5lbs but I think the trade off for dual pumps AND dual filtration is worth it. I also run pre filters between my wing tanks and header tank.
